The Back Bay Youth Rugby Club was first established in the fall of 2004 with only a few kids that wanted to play rugby. At our very first practice, we only had 7 players but by our first match we had 14 players. We won that first game, and many more since then.  Our league has grown from 14 players to over 200 boy and girl youth players.

We are now competing in all youth Southern California divisions from U8 to U18. Our players come from Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Westminister, Irvine, Santa Ana and other cities throughout Orange County to play with us. We have over 20 dedicated coaches on staff, all certified by USA Rugby and background checked. Many of our coaches have also competed at high levels of rugby in Australia, New Zealand, England, Wales and the United States. Join the league and see what rugby is all about!

Join Back Bay Rugby this summer for another season of Summer 7s! Summer 7s is played with 7 players on a team. The season runs from mid-May through July, offering U10-U18 leagues.  All teams will play in Saturday tournaments full of rugby fun! Anyone between U10 through U18 is invited to join Back Bay Youth Rugby this summer.

We understand the summer months can be busy, so commitment is flexible. Participant fees vary based on your commitment. You are welcome to play every single game, or just a few. Whatever works best for you and your summer plans!

Registration is a two-step process. Follow these steps to register:

Step One: Sign Up with USA Rugby here

Step Two: If you are registering a NEW player, register with SoCal Youth Rugby here. If you are a parent or guardian of a minor, you should create a Match Facts account in your name. Once that account is set up, you can use it to register your child. Returning players should already have an account.
